India and Nepal – COVID-19 $100 000 for 100 Days campaign

Azility contributed funds to Pollinate Group’s COVID-19 $100 000 for 100 Days campaign. Azility’s funds helped Pollinate Group achieve their $100 000 target to address energy access, poverty and gender inequality in the most neglected communities of India and Nepal. COVID-19 has increased these issues, and progress to date in slum communities and rural villages is being undone.

The funding will ensure local women in poverty can continue to be empowered as leaders of change to distribute products – such as solar lights – that improve health, save time and save money for their peers. The women-led distribution network ensures access to affordable and modern products to replace biomass, coal and kerosene. Additional products that households purchase include solar fans, to combat humidity, heat and mosquitoes, and clean cook stoves.
